Two Crucial Things About Magic Tricks Revealed

1:   The first important thing you have realized already. Practice the trick itself. Over and over again. Learn it by heart, and please, please, do it exactly the same way every time{!}

This might sound strange, but it is actually very important. It is applied behavioural science – by doing the trick exactly the same way the movements and the gestures become “hardwired” into your mind.
You do not need to think about it at all, your hands and your whole body does it all on “autopilot”. It becomes “easy magic”.

This is important, because when you can do a trick automatically you can concentrate on the other important issue.

2:   Which is – become an expert on people{!} When you can do the trick without thinking you will be able to chat and banter with the people in your audience.
Be relaxed, establish your easy authority, make sure YOU are setting the agenda and not them.

It is very educational  to watch professional magicians and note how they do things.
 Not the trick itself, you will not be able to see what they do, but observe how they talk to people, how they constantly talk – in an easy and comfortable way – and how they draw attention to one thing while at the same time do something else.

You can be sure that they are very aware of what people are looking at, how they react, how to hoodwink their attention at a crucial moment.

The secret here is – be comfortable with people{!} If you are a shy person, you might want to work on becoming more self confident. I have heard it said, and read as well, that a majority of people are scared to death of speaking in public.

Well, successful magic is first and last determined by you being able to “hoodwink” your audience. Because, magic is not “real” magic in the sense that you actually can read minds, or make a coin disappear.
And that means you have to be able to speak in front of people{!}
Now you have the key secret behind magic tricks revealed{!}

That is the bad news.
The good news – it is not hard{!} By appearing relaxed and comfortable – you will actually be it{!}

What you can  do is to observe your audience and the people watching. Learn how to decode peoples expressions, learn how to read people and how eyes can give away what someone is thinking.

How to do magic tricks is as much people business as it is practical trickery{!}
